The yard....

Do you remember what my yard looked like before? Or maybe you remember what we started out with? So now I have finally finished 2 of the flower beds! It was a lot of work and even if it doesn't look like there are plants there are. We are just too cheap to buy big plants!

This picture shows the back of the house. There are 3 hostas planted there and we have started seeds for a TON of plants so these beds are going to be full! Not to mention when you live next to an empty lot of weeds having any kind of landscaping looks fabulous! (FYI)

We also found a way to fill our planter boxes cheaper than we thought. After the lady at Allred's told us not to get any topsoil from around here because it was TOXIC! So now we are trying to decide what to plant here.....
Oh yeah we also planted 3 concord grape vines along this fence! (Thank you Lowe's for having a terrific price on bare root plants!)

That is the 2nd lupine we have planted. The first one Wade murdered. Yes murdered!! This one I saved in the nick of time by transplanting it into a nice shady spot behind the house. Notice the bark and no weeds! I did all by myself. Thanks to the Frandsens and the free bark they gave me! Can you get addicted to barking your flower beds?

Compare the raspberry plant from last year to this one! Wade and I found a compromise. (I am just as surprised as you!) Now the raspberry plant won't attack upon entering the backyard! (I know I need to clean out this part. If Wade would stop reseeding the grass it would be a lot easier!)

This is the area by the garage. What you can't see are 3 hydrangea trees (I hope they survive in a zone 5 winter!) and 2 hosta plants. Again notice the bark and lack of weeds! This I did by myself as well!
If you will also notice Wade's grass. Isn't it so green? That is what happens when you have OCD and plant your own grass!

Luke's Spring Program

ConAmore had it's Spring Program last week. It is so fun to go and watch. Luke was asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. He did such a great job! His class has been studying the Presidents of the United States this year. He has learned so much! He can give lots and lots of information even if he can't always remember which president it was. So his class shared what they have learned so far. His class also sang a song with the whole school. The kids at this school are so wonderful. Every time I go to one of their programs I just want to cry during the whole thing. They are fantastic!

Luke waiting to share about his president.

Luke singing with his class... the boy loves to sing. I love to hear him singing to himself at home.

Getting ready to lead the Pledge.

Luke sharing information about President Taylor. His teacher Ms. Shelly is helping him.

The Wait is Over.....

Have you missed me? I think the problem is that I took a small break from being so busy this summer and then school started. Then the holidays came and birthdays and then I went back to college to get my Special Ed teaching degree. Now my life is a whole different kind of busy! Well don't worry I won't neglect you any more. Doesn't that make your Monday better?
